Create a Memorable Event Using Iconic London Venues.

Andy Robertson

Any event organiser wants to make their event a memorable one and the venue selected can really make a big difference. In reviewing the availability in London there are a surprising number of historic and iconic venues for hire catering for small intimate private parties up to larger scale events.

For event organisers looking to create something special in London there is a wide choice of venues available making it relatively easy to select a venue that fits their event theme and potential audience. Key considerations will be the likely audience capacity, budget, location and building or space restrictions. Here is a selection of unique inspired venues in London that might just fit the bill:

Aqua Shard (capacity 360).
One of the newest and trendiest of this selection is the iconic Shard tower in central London. The Aqua Shard on level 31 is available for private hire and gives some of the best nigh time views of London. They have a variety of spaces and sizes available for hire, it's not the largest venue but it has few competitors in the capital.

Namco FunScape (capacity 1,200).
If organisers want to inject more fun into their event this South Bank entertainment complex has more than 150 arcade games plus bumper cars and a Ping & Pool Hall. More geared to corporate fun days out than a live music event it is unique in its appeal.

National Maritime Museum (capacity 1,500).
Although based a little way out of the city in Greenwich this old historic venue offers a larger capacity and is ideal for large, upmarket events typically gala dinners and awards ceremonies for example.

HMS Belfast (capacity 200).
A fixed landmark on the river Thames located in central London this historical Second World War warship offers a variety of flexible spaces for hire.

Tower of London (capacity 300).
It may be surprising to know that each of the Towers are available for private hire and provide unique party space in a central location with great views along the river Thames.

Kensington Palace (capacity 1,000).
For event organisers looking for the ultimate upmarket venue in a central location Kensington Palace can hold up to 1,000 in its Orangery.

Hampton Court Palace (capacity 1,200).
This huge former royal palace can hold events for up to 1,200 guests and lends itself to larger events with a variety of space configurations available for hire. Hampton Court Palace is deep in the suburbs of South West London so location and  access could present challenges.

This is just a handful of unique venues available for hire in London and selection really depends on the nature of the event. For a PR launch party for an artist's new album launch it would be wise to select a venue that is geared up to live music performances with a good AV set up.
