COVID-19 Updates

30th June 2021. Organisers of the 4-day festival in Hertfordshire have confirmed the event will go ahead as scheduled on 22nd – 25th July 2021, just after the key UK's Step 4 reopening date of 19th July. Festival-goers will need a negative test on entry and the event will incorporate protocols highlighted in the government's ERP report. Headliners include Bastille, Hot Chip, Primal Scream and Craig David's TS5. Tickets are still available for anyone interested.

New Event

29th June 2021. Organisers of the Chicago based music festival, working with Form Presents, have announced a new London edition of their festival scheduled for 10th - 14th November 2021. The London edition will join the Chicago and Paris editions taking place this year and will feature 50 performances across 5 London venues. Headliners include Stereolab, Moses Boyd, Black Midi and Mykki Blanco. Tickets are on sale now for anyone interested.

COVID-19 Updates

28th June 2021. Peter Gabriel, organiser of WOMAD has announced the cancellation of the event saying "It is with great regret that we are cancelling WOMAD ’21 today. Without the simple support of a government insurance scheme or the guarantee of Test Event status, we cannot continue and put WOMAD’s long term future at risk. We feel that our audience, artists, staff, and contractors, who have been amazingly supportive throughout all this, will understand the need for us to act to guarantee our survival.”

25th June 2021. Mitigation measures can be used to reduce and manage risks associated with large events, report finds. The programme involved a total of 58,000 participants at venues across the country including Liverpool, Sheffield and London. The report confirms that 28 cases of Covid-19 were recorded from all available data during the ERP’s first nine events. Of these 28 cases, the report has found 11 cases were identified as potentially infectious at an event, and a further 17 were identified as potentially infected at or around the time of an event.

24th June 2021. After a few touch and go discussions the organisers of the 3-day music festival in Lancashire have been given the green light to go ahead with their event scheduled for 16th – 18th July 2021. The festival headliners already confirmed include Toploader, Bez, Republica, Mark Radcliffe and Clint Boon. For anyone interested tickets are available and on sale now.

Andy Robertson - Thursday 24 June 2021

23rd June 2021. Organisers have confirmed that the 3-day music festival will proceed as scheduled for 10th – 12th September 2021. This follows Scotland declaring that events can resume from the beginning of August. The festival headliners were already confirmed as Courteeners, Liam Gallagher, The Chemical Brothers, Ian Brown, Primal Scream and Snow Patrol. Organisers stated that limited numbers of tickets are still available.

COVID-19 Updates

22nd June 2021. Organisers of the popular retro music festival have announced the cancellation of their Essex event saying "Due to logistical issues brought about by the delay to the lifting of restrictions, we have had to make the difficult decision to re-schedule Let’s Rock Essex to Saturday 10th September 2022." The other Let's Rock festival locations may have been subject to date changes too so ticket holders should contact the organisers for more details.

21st June 2021. Organisers of the popular free music festival held annually on south beach Blyth have announced the cancellation of their summer event. Orgainsers said "At the very earliest, restrictions will be lifted on 19th July and, as this year's festival has already been pushed back to 24th July, there just isn’t enough time to make final arrangements to ensure a safe event for everyone. The legal and safety procedures alone for an event this size would take a considerable amount of time to complete."

20th June 2021. Organisers of the 4-day festival have announced cancellation. In an announcement orgainsers said "There is a delay in the release of the research from the Event Research Programme (ERP) which would publish crucial new safety guidance on how we run events. Without this safety guidance, there are numerous aspects of the festival we cannot plan, and which could lay us wide open to last minute unforeseen regulations or requirements we may be required to adhere to, any of which could scupper an already built festival.”

17th June 2021. Organisers of the 4-day food and music festival in Bristol have confirmed that they will forge ahead with their event despite an extension of the UK’s Covid-restrictions. In an announcement orgainsers said "we’re continuing with plans to hold Valley Fest ’21 (29th July – 1st August). We feel confident that the four-week delay and expanded vaccination programme will see restrictions fully lifted on July 19th’’. The festival will feature headliners Deacon Blue, Texas, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Toploader and many more.

16th June 2021. The Dub Pistols event has reemerged with a new location at Vicarage Farm near Winchester and confirmed dates scheduled for 10th – 11th September 2021. The event will run at 60% capacity and will be fully COVID-19 compliant. Headliners announced so far include Dub Pistols, Gentlemans Dub Club, Bez’s Acid House Party, Tom Findlay (Groove Armada), Leeroy Thornhill (The Prodigy) and Don Letts plus many more. 15th June 2021. Organisers of the 3-day Americana festival in Kent have announced the cancellation of their June event. In an announcement orgainsers said "The delay by the Government on the easing of restrictions means we’re unable to bring you Black Deer Festival 2021. It’s devastating news for all connected with Black Deer. But we’ll be back, in 2022. We’ll soon be sharing the next steps for Black Deer Festival 2022 with all you wonderful ticket-holders who stuck with us’’.

New Event

14th June 2021. Organisers of the Breakout Festival in Kirkcaldy, Scotland have confirmed their scheduled dates of 8th - 10th October 2021. Also announced were their headliners including Big Country, The Rezillos, The Skids, Adamski, Gun, Midge Ure and Graeme Park plus many more. Organisers are expecting up to 30,000 festival-goers and all proceeds will go to the NHS Fife Health Charity. Tickets are on sale now  for anyone interested.

12th June 2021. The eighties retro festival in Henley-on-Thames has confirmed their scheduled dates of 20th – 22nd August 2021. Also announced were their headliners including Jimmy Somerville’s Big Band-Tastic Boogie, Sarah Jane Morris, Wet Wet Wet Queen, Symphonic, Billy Ocean, Grandmaster Flash, Altered Images, Nik Kershaw, Bananarama, Go West, Marc Almond and the Christians plus many more. 10th June 2021. The classic music festival returns to live performances with dates confirmed for 17th – 31st July 2021. The festival will feature over 30 concerts by more than 100 musicians with a special focus on French and British music. The concerts span 500 years from the choral works of Renaissance master Josquin to the Impressionism of Debussy and Ravel, right up to the present day. New Event

9th June 2021. Organisers of the LGBT women only festival have been given the go ahead by local authorities in Derbyshire. The new festival will be limited to 2,000 festival-goers due to COVID-19 restrictions and is scheduled for 3rd – 6th September 2021. The line-up includes Heather Peace, Lara de Belder, The Syncing Violets, DJs Madame Twisted and Nadia Lucy plus many more including numerous tribute acts. 8th June 2021 (Evening Standard). Music fans flocked to a festival in Albania in the tens of thousands despite the threat of coronavirus, organisers said. Festival-goers came together to enjoy days of non-stop music by the sea, despite only 10 per cent of the population being vaccinated against Covid-19. Crowds from across Europe partied on the beach and clustered under the pine trees in Shengjin, 45 miles from the capital Tirana.

7th June 2021. Organisers of the Wilderness Festival have announced their line-up and confirmed dates scheduled for 5th - 8th August 2021. The confirmed line-up includes DJ Jamie XX, Loyle Carner, Rudimental, David Rodigan, Bicep, Franc Moody, Georgia, Alfa Mist, Picture This, Katy J Pearson and Charlie Cunningham. COVID-19 Updates

5th June 2021. The Belgian government have announced that live events with capacities up to 75k can run from August and Tomorrowland is considering running versions on 27th - 29th August and 3rd – 5th September. The conditions for running any event are not yet defined but will include all visitors to have had a vaccine or provide a negative PCR test. Those that do not present the documentation on arrival must undergo an antigen test every day of the festival on-site.

3rd June 2021. Organisers of the South West’s biggest festival have moved dates from July to later in the year, now scheduled for 23rd - 26th September. The festival known for its music, street art, skate and BMX have yet to announce their artist line-up. In an announcement organisers said there was too much uncertainly because they still do not know what guidelines could be in place in July regarding possible coronavirus restrictions. Ticket holders will be automatically transferred to the new dates or refunds can be requested.

2nd June 2021. The festival that features the finest performers and ensembles from the worlds of dance, opera, music and theatre returns on 7th - 29th August. The festival will feature over 170 performances from artists including Simon Rattle, Damon Albarn, Nicola Benedetti and Laura Mvula. This year's event will be biased towards music with less focus on theatre, the fringe comedy festival is still in doubt for 2021. For anyone interested online bookings open on Friday 11th June.

1st June 2021. After their hybrid event last year organisers of the three-day multi venue festival have announced their dates scheduled for 15th - 17th October this year. The headliners include Minsky Rock, Andy Stott, VTSS, Ben UFO, Loraine James, Batu, Helena Hauff, India Jordan, Anz, SHERELLE, Kode9, Tim Reaper, Ifeoluwa, Juliana Huxtable, AYA and 96 Back. 31st May 2021. Cruïlla Festival in Barcelona, Spain will go ahead on 8th – 10th July but capacity will be limited to 25,000 festival-goers on each day. There will be entry restrictions for visitors including an antigen test on each day they enter the venue, and the wearing of a FFP2 mask that will be provided at the gate at all times. Headliners include Tom Walker, Editors, Two Door Cinema Club, Izal and Amaral. For anyone interested in attending one of Spain's premier festivals tickets are still available.

30th May 2021. Organisers of the Shubbak Festival have announced a series of events for this year's festival scheduled to run form 20th June – 3rd July. The biennial festival of contemporary Arab culture features the best of contemporary Arab visual arts, film, music, theatre, dance, literature and debate. The festival will also feature The London Syrian Ensemble and Palestinian rapper The Synaptik. Tickets are available now for all events.

27th May 2021. Organisers of the Cinch presents Latitude Festival have announced their line-up for the four day event in Suffolk scheduled for 22nd – 25th July this year. The headliners include Wolf Alice, The Chemical Brothers, Bastille: ReOrchestrated and Bombay Bicycle Club! New Event

26th May 2021. The organisers of Download have announced a limited capacity 3-day festival scheduled for 18th – 20th June called Download Pilot. The festival will be limited to 10,000 festival-goers and everybody on site will have taken a lateral flow test before entry and received a negative result and will have taken a PCR test too with no requirement for masks or social distancing. The line-up will be announced next week and for those interested tickets go on sale in June.

25th May 2021. A new one-day queer dance festival has been announced and scheduled for 9th October 2021. Organisers say that the multi-venue mega rave spans 16 spaces in Hackney Wick, uniting the creative minds and movers of the LGBTQI+ dance music scene through a unique day and night of programming. The line-up announced so far includes High Hoops and Bitch Please! Ticket registration is open now.

22nd May 2021. Organisers of the 2-day Progressive Rock festival in Guildford have announced the cancellation of their July event. In an announcement orgainsers said "Sadly, we are still unable to guarantee that we can hold our event this year. This is due to a mixture of international flight uncertainty and the continued situation that UK festivals find themselves in - without event cancellation insurance in the UK". Tickets can be rolled over to July 2022 or refunded.

21st May 2021. The new three-day festival organised by production company ISG have announced their headliners for the festival scheduled for 13th – 15th August this year. The festival aims to bring a bit of Ibiza to Yorkshire and headliners confirmed include Judge Jules, Danny Rampling K-Klass, Toploader, Lawson and The Hoosiers.

20th May 2021. Organisers of The Estate Festival in Bedfordshire have announced their line-up for the five-week long music festival scheduled for 27th May - 27th June this year. The festival known for its socially distanced format was one of the few events to run in 2020. The headliners include Atomic Kitten, S Club, Joel Corry, Pete Tong, The Shapeshifers, Horse Meat Disco, Patrick Topping, Melé, Monki and Sam Divine. Tickets and packages are on sale now.
